This is marvelous, Guy! You have a great story-telling voice with intimations of another era even while making a modern, urban version. Oh the psychoanalysis that could be done on this! And I love the transformation of the wolf into a guardian. It reminds me of the Creation Myth of the Jigonsaseh that I talk about in https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/when-mothers-ran-the-world:
"I’ll end with the creation epic called the Gayanashagowa of the League of Five Nations from The Dawn of Everything:
… what comes through most strongly in the text is its representation of a social problem with a social solution: a breakdown of relationships in which the country is plunged into chaos and revenge, spiralling to a point where social order has dissolved away and where the powerful have become literal cannibals. Most powerful of all is Adodarhoh, who is represented as a witch, deformed, monstrous and capable of commanding others to do his bidding.
The narrative centres on a hero, Deganawideh the Peacemaker, who appears from what is later to be the Neutral territory … determined to put an end to this chaotic state of affairs. He wins to his cause first the Jigonsaseh, a woman famous for standing outside all quarrels (he finds her hosting and feeding war parties from all sides of the conflict); and then Hiawatha, one of Adodarhoh’s cannibal henchmen. Together they set about winning over the people of each nation to agree on creating a formal structure for heading off disputes and creating peace. Hence the system of titles, nested councils, consensus-finding, condolence rituals and the prominent role of female elders in formulating policy. In the story, the very last to be won over is Adodarhoh himself, who is gradually healed of his deformities and turned into a human being. [483-484]
Helo, Tereza. So glad you enjoyed it so much and that it connects so strongly to myth. That was a part of the intention, of course. (I wasn't really satisfied with the ending at the time. Now I'm not so sure.)
I'll take a look at 'Gayanashagowa of the League of Five Nations'. At one time I was studying myths quite closely as part of my self-study of Jung and all things Jungian. I don't remember that one though. Although the 'League of Five Nations' rings some kind of distant bell.
One of the most fascinating archetypal examinations of myth involves the hare or rabbit. Did you happen to come across 'The Lady of the Hare: A Study in the Healing Power of Dreams' by John Layard. Such a great read! https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/1484588
Now for my morning extended sadhana, day 6 of an 11 day extended Long Ek Ong Kar Set with vinyasana. So interesting.
I'm in the beginning of my next essay about 'the problem of choice' and 'aiming for the target.' So many synchronicities as I write it, and going sideways. So... back to it.
Hola, Sarah. I'm so glad you enjoyed this side of me! I'll be putting up more things that are other aspects of me.
I'm great. A little overwhelmed with an odd conflation of unexpected attention demands on my writing time.
Two weekends ago I was away from all social media for 4 days and that has had unexpected downstream consequences.
And for some reason, my psyche-somatic resonance guidance system (TM) directed me to do an 11 day 2.5hr Long Ek Ong Kar mantra meditation, on top of my usual sadhana. So... with that I'm up to about 4 hrs + per day sadhana. It has been amazing.
And I had some huge awareness shifts as the leader of the 4 day silence retreat I'd organised, and am now in the slow process of building a yogic business "Hello Human Yoga and Meditation for Life." With some amazing synchronicities I've been given help to build a web page for the first time.
And I've expanded my writing a little bit. EG, the ego one (which I think is excellent, imho) is long and took so many turns when I wrote it as I was learning about me and my ego – sounds like a song? Oh! Jane Sibery, 'Me and my Dog'. Same difference. Oops. Sibery wrote 'Everything Reminds me of My Dog!' Even more accurate. https://youtu.be/MfZIaPSv4W0
Boygenius wrote 'me and my dog'.
Where was I? And the essay I did from our dialogue has kept me busy with someone who wants to dialogue there in the comments. Interesting.
And Sage has been so busy, I feel a bit overwhelmed catching up and so .... keeping my head down a little. I'm here and will be posting soon enough. Thank you for asking!
Hola, NOH. I hope you are well. I've been busy. I was writing my last essay until almost 5am this morning to get it out for Monday. I had a viscerally powerful awareness of the depth of the meaning of karma. No longer words, no longer the kind of Godless version of the Judaeo-Christian old testament eye-for-an-eye revenge / retribution cant I was raised with by my deluded New Agey parents.
And I see that you deleted out the wonderful reference to 5th Element! I loved that movie, even though it is corny. For some reason their is laissez-faire ease to it, like the people were having fun and bringing it to life. Likely largely the result of the energy the director brought to it.
Since the movie is fun, and the reference to the singer and the song it is so on point, I've stuck it here for anyone who happens to track down into these subterranean threads. And I didn't follow the name of the singer from the movie, so thank you for providing that. Gosh, it was lovely to listen to that again! I'd forgotten how lovely it is.
And then that reminded me of another CD I used to listen to often!
"The footage is incredible. For some reason her voice reminded me of Inva Mula Tchako, the Alien's song from the Fifth Element movie. A bit operatic. Tchako's voice is much higher. https://youtu.be/SPf2ANjUbrY Her voice gets deeper at the end. Original movie version https://youtu.be/VQaROYYJ5zk "
I'm not sure if you're into this, I havent been into it until about a week ago when I found this woman on YouTube. I wasn't going to share it but when you spoke of Karma it made me think of her video 2 days ago. She speaks of karma. I'm not certain I believe all she says but her video 9 days ago and this one really resonated with me (I will include that links at the bottom.) I didnt want to let the Karma synchronicity go incase you find some value in it.
I'll look at the videos in the next day or two. I'm getting ready for bed after a very early night this morning.
I don't deep dive this, although I don't dismiss it and see that it has value. My sister is *DEEP* astrologer and is starting her own astrology on-line thing. And another friend is a super deep diver into the Ayurvedic astrology, likely an even deeper version. (Western astrology is a slightly downgraded version of Ayurvedic astrology that the Greeks learned from the Indians.)
Hmmm. The 2day ago video has a synchronicity with a conversation I'm having with a friend here in Oaxaca who is struggling with honouring his own truth and loving himself. He has a big split between his body (heart) and his mind. He is struggling with physical health despite having a lot of spiritual knowledge in his head from a lot of training and spiritual courses and study with a guru in Indian.
Also, a small synchronicity with my sister, who recently sent me a discussion on the presence of (evil) entities in shaping the darkness of our human history. She mentions a CS Lewis book, That Hideous Strength. Have you heard of it? It is possible that entities are actually a huge presence of 'problems' in our lives. (She has encountered entities in a tangible way in her amazing history. And when we were teens we were a part of a spiritual circle that dealt with entities.)
Well, I'm falling asleep. I'll catch up later. And I would like to address, soon, your comments from here:
I hope you had a restful night and am happy the video had some synchronicities. In the 9 days ago video she gave the reason why these struggles are happening. I like the discussion of planet alignment. Scientists have found energy fields, planet alignment, solar flares are presenting in earth patterns and disruptions.
Interesting about your sister. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent post
Hello, Jo Ann.
It's great meeting you here in substack. I am glad that this resonated with you. Thank you for commenting. 🙂
All the best, with peace and recognition of the stories and the tellers.

I'll check that out. Yes, you and I share a love of myth and fairy tales.
On Jung, I don't know if you've seen William Hunter Duncan's series on the archetypes. It's very well done, I've had it bookmarked in a draft for a future episode: https://williamhunterduncan.substack.com/p/the-king-archetype
I will check him out.
I'm in the beginning of my next essay about 'the problem of choice' and 'aiming for the target.' So many synchronicities as I write it, and going sideways. So... back to it.
I'm so glad you decided to share this side of you. I enjoyed this immensely. Thank you.
Also...I've missed "seeing" you around the stacks. I hope all is well♥️

Thank you for you beautiful version of little red riding hood. 🙏❤
It resonanted with me
Hello NOH.
I am glad that it resonated with you. Now we have a version of the story that affirms our inherent strength, no heroes required.
Latest music tonight, has been a strange mix including BNL "I wear a hat and try to remain thoughtless at all times". https://youtu.be/xaz8L9R-fvQ
Before that Sarah Neufeld and her violin and beautiful dance: https://youtu.be/mN6pJ6Mrjyg
And now, more Dead Can Dance. I'm so amazed I hadn't come across them before.
https://youtu.be/sJqUbb-WuPQ
Good night. 🙏❤🙏
I hope you slept well. 🙏 ❤
🤣 "wearing a hat with an empty head"
The last song was beautiful. The footage is incredible.
And then 'The Flower Duet' reminded me of a wonderful, odd, beautiful and interesting movie.
Here's the trailer. If that catches your eye, perhaps you'll enjoy it.

Thank you for sharing this. I did enjoy it. 💕

And, then the flower duet. Thank you for bringing that back to mind. Here is a lovely new-to-me version. https://youtu.be/C1ZL5AxmK_A
