On the surface it would seem that the suspension of critical thinking is a sign of both obedience to authority and mass formation. And now, as I wrestle with this, I wonder if critical thinking actually needed to be suspended at all? What if it didn’t really exist to begin with? What if our society has been infected or injected with latent mass formation for scores, if not hundreds or more years? Perhaps it’s like a human-made herpes virus, dormant within the host body politic until becoming active or is made manifest with the presence of the right kinds of physical and/or psychological stressors or triggers such as delineated by Desmet and others?
This is worth looking at, and aligns with Jung’s generalisation, with which modern neuroscience studies confirm, that all people live mostly unconsciously to a significant around 95% extent.

One of the most common observations I’ve read from various people who are looking critically and with curiosity, and with a combination of surprise and shock at the success of the covid narrative, is how quickly just about everyone, at all levels of society albeit especially at the level of the trained experts and leaders, was willing to suspend what are considered the basic foundations of what it means to be human and alive in a civilised democratic society: freedom to choose, freedom to speak, bodily autonomy, and the critical importance of honesty and with it trust. Why? How?
References are made to Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Maoist China, as examples where these tenets were abdicated to an ideology, a ‘new’ grand narrative that would fix the problems of the old grand narrative. In these, and the many other examples in history going back hundreds of years, the masks of honouring the basic foundations of respect for people, even people once part of the in-group, are removed and oftentimes there is a nearly overnight shift and the community begins to purge from themselves the offenders to the new saving ideology or to the new saviour-twist from an existing ideology. For example, burning witches, Christians killing Christians, Moslems killing Moslems, etc.
As of today the uninjected have been constrained, reviled, rebuked, fined and vilified. With rare exception, unlike witches or other historical groups, they haven’t been formally purged from society. If Desemet’s preventative solution to a fully constellated mass formation is correct, perhaps that ultimate fatal eventuality, by historical standards, has been avoided because the uninjected have had enough voice through the tools of modern communication to agitate and irritate those connecting directly to the collective unconscious. This suggests that the ‘cure’ to mass formation is to use the same tools that have been used by the authorities to activate it: the latter spreads divisive fear-based propaganda while the former builds the bridges to see the truth with compassion, one human to another, as opposed to one group to another. In this case ‘truth’ means to see what is tangibly, physically happening or extant. To activate means to create fear and panic and confusion with lies and gaslighting.
Woke and Covid as Unique Expressions Arising from a Psychological Virus or Toxoplasmosis
To consider the existence of mass formation as a dormant psychological herpes-like virus helps explain how quickly the society flipped from being relatively benign to completely toxic. With second thought, though, perhaps toxoplasmosis is in some ways a better analogy than herpes: mass formation as a self-serving psychological parasite that deranges the conscious thinking of the host under the right conditions in order to manifest its own proliferation. The hosts don’t know that their thinking has been deranged let alone that that derangement comes from an internal agent that is difficult to see. Jung puts it well, paraphrased: the unconscious really is unconscious. It is not seen.
I think that the relative rapidity of the proliferation of woke ideology as toxic to its host society, like with covidian tyranny, is a concomitant societal flip (out) that provides evidence of mass formation as psychological toxoplasmosis. As well as the rapidity of the toxicity of the long dormant parasitical psychological contagion, once the woke parasite became active it has nearly identical vehement castigations towards the unwoke as many of the injected have towards the uninjected: both groups are perceived as singular embodiments of selfishness and even evil. Substitute ‘woke’ for ‘covid’ in the above argument and it is easy to see the same manifestation of a social and societal toxicity. The woke have lost their individual humanity, connected themselves to a particular collective unconscious group energy that has removed the same foundations of human dignity as has the covidians’ narrative: freedom to choose, freedom to speak, bodily autonomy, and the critical importance of honesty and with it trust.
The woke, at their best, have undermined all of these virtues with unilateral attacks on race, gender, family, human creativity, fundamental human and social values and worth. Woke may be, perhaps, even worse than the covidians because as well as undermining these social values, the woke have embraced an ideology that denies the value of family and even the existence of gender. It is an interesting confluence that covidian lockdowns similarly denied the value of family, relegating as being far less important than fear of covid. With their denial of gender the woke have denied a basic human experience and scientific reality. And the woke are able to, with a straight (LGBTQ++) face, refute their own genderless ideology by violently embracing freedom from the trap of gender by vehemently advocating for the chemical sterilisation and physical mutilation of children. How that illogical mess doesn’t explode their brains is a remarkable testament to the human capacity to embrace conflicting beliefs at the same time, as well as delusion. Societal toxoplasmosis. And that they have embraced sexual mutilation of children as upholding the truth of their genderless ideology aligns precisely with Desmet’s last proof of mass formation: the ‘good’ intentioned group ideology that rationalises the death of the child.
Obvious Signs that the Covid-Injection Narrative was Either Not to Be Trusted or was Outright False
What makes the unquestioned obeisance and obedience to be injected as directed by the lab-coats via government edicts and corporate news invectives even more troubling than Milgram’s experiment was that, from the very beginning of the covid narrative, there was plenty of common sense ‘evidence’ or indicators to caution against taking the injection. Those cautions were broadcast by our health officials very loudly through the mainstream media, although (kind of) hidden beneath the headlines that proclaimed the life or death need for fear and the scintillating and tantalising hope of ‘science’. And, even though I didn’t read, watch or listen to any news as the pandemic panic was initiated and expanded, I heard from the people around me about the development of the pandemic and then the saviour ‘vaccine’ with a super safe new technology and nearly 100% efficacy that had been completed in about six months. Really?
For me there were four main and obvious warning signs with those claims. And those signs told us to proceed with caution, if at all. The cautions were:
1) historically it has been evidentially clear that flu vaccines don’t work very well if at all and so the claim of 95% efficacy wasn’t credible;
2) this was an experimental new technology, hence not a vaccine, and calling it one was a lie;
3) that it was, reportedly, developed in less than six months meant that it was an untested new something on top of it not being a vaccine;
4) the claim that it was perfectly safe was not credible, and very likely a bold-faced lie too, because no pharmaceutical medicine is without side effects. Medical history is rife with many other perfectly safe pharmaceuticals, such as thalidomide, AZT, DES, that have been found to be very harmful to outright deadly–only after having made their manufacturers lots of money.
And above these common sense cautions the most important brake to inject was the exhortations by the authorities for the need to panic. That was a shibboleth that put into doubt the truth of the pandemic narrative. Why? Because it looked like a panic was being deliberately manufactured, in much the same way that crying ‘Fire!’ in a theatre can create panic. We have been told in various ways scores of times through drills, demonstrations and signage, that in the event of a real emergency, be it a real fire, real earthquakes, real airplane crash or real ferry sinking, to remain calm, don’t panic. And therefore, the inducement to panic now made it clear to me that this was a manufactured panic. And in being manufactured it was not a real emergency and was, instead, a manipulation to someone’s benefit.
So who would benefit by creating this panic? At first glance and without digging, it looked to me like this was being done to transfer wealth from government coffers to the pharmaceutical companies’ bank accounts. And it did that, and also, along with the lockdown compensation packages, expanded government debt and contributed to raising inflation. As it turns out, after a year of research, that was likely only a part of the story, and perhaps a relatively small part. That’s a different discussion.

Do you ever wonder if woke is (in part) the opposite and equal reaction to controlling, judgmental, shame-based religious hypocrisy and bullies who tell people who are different to kill themselves, etc.?
In what way(s) is the term “mass formation” helpful, necessary or adding to your already multifaceted delineation of the phenomena before us? I wonder.
